Very Rev. Fr. Reginaldo Lavilla, MSP, Father Moderator, said the ordination would strengthen the missionary presence in the local Church. “Through this ordination, the MSP will become more widely known here,” Lavilla said.

He also expressed hope that the newly ordained priest would inspire others to pursue missionary life. “The world is so vast that it needs more missionaries to proclaim God’s Word,” he added, noting that more vocations could emerge by following the example of the new priest.

The MSP Superior thanked those who supported the vocation, including Msgr. Claro Caluya, Fr. Joseph Bravante, and the parents of the newly ordained. “Thank you for giving Benchley to the Church. Thank you for your generosity,” he said.

The ordination marks another step in the MSP’s mission to form and send Filipino missionaries both in the Philippines and abroad, according to the Father Moderator.

The ordination Mass was attended by Msgr. Caluya, diocesan administrator; Fr. Bravante, parish priest; diocesan priests; MSP priests; and other guest clergy.

During the celebration, Rev. Fr. Alemar Orit, MSP Secretary General, also read the official appointment of Fr. Pusing. He was assigned as “Director of the Affiliate Seminarians in the Configuration Stage and Pastoral Director of the Mission Society of the Philippines Seminary in Tagaytay City” for a term of one year, from July 15, 2026, to July 15, 2027.

The newly ordained priest also expressed his gratitude to those who supported his vocation, and all who accompanied him in his journey, and asked for continued prayers.
