MSP Community Honors Señor Santo Niño in 2026 Feast Day Celebration

Nearly a thousand devotees of the Santo Niño, along with friends, benefactors of the Mission Society of the Philippines (MSP), and neighboring religious communities, gathered on January 31, 2026 at the MSP Seminary Tagaytay, to celebrate the annual MSP Feast Day in honor of Señor Santo Niño.

The highlight of the celebration was the Sinulog procession around the vicinity of Brgy. Mag-Asawang Ilat and the Eucharistic Celebration presided over by His Excellency, Most Rev. Samuel N. Agcaracar, SVD, D.D., Bishop of the Diocese of San Jose, Nueva Ecija. Notably, the bishop had only been consecrated to the episcopate a few weeks prior to the feast, lending a special significance to his presence.

This year’s celebration carried the theme, “In Santo Niño, We Are One,” inspired by the broader theme of the Sinulog festivities in Cebu and Pope Leo XIV’s motto and coat of arms, “In Illo Uno Unom”, which translates as “In the One, We Are One”.

In preparation for the feast, a nine-day novena of Masses was held, presided over by visiting MSP priests from various mission areas. Each novena Mass was sponsored by different groups connected to the seminarians’ apostolate assignments, fostering a spirit of participation and communal devotion.

The annual Fiesta Mass and novena celebrations in honor of Señor Santo Niño serve as a meaningful reminder of the roots of the MSP.

Born in Cebu, the Society draws deeply from the devotion to the Santo Niño, which stands as a symbol of the gift of faith entrusted to the Filipino people through the early missionaries.

Through this enduring tradition, the MSP community continues to celebrate not only its heritage but also its mission of unity and faith in Christ.
